Wanna play?

We host creative gatherings where you show up just as you are. No experts required.

House Hangs. Date nights. Girls' nights. Garden get togethers.
Let's hang out and make something :)

WHAT TO EXPECT

All ages. All skill levels. This is for you.
All sessions include materials and firing.

Your pieces will be ready 4–6 weeks after your session, and will be available for pickup (addresses provided when booking.)

One more thing: Clay is unpredictable. We do everything we can to help your pieces make it through the kiln safely, but sometimes they crack or break. This is the nature of making -- Sometimes it’s heartbreaking. But also, sometimes accidents are beautiful. A crack can add character. It reminds you that this isn't mass produced in China, but made by your own two hands.

Timing

Each workshop is 2-3 hours, depending on what we'll make together.

15 min arrivals & welcome • 15 min project overview • 70 min making • 20 min cleanup

LET'S GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY

With clay, the possibilities are endless. If you've got something in particular you want to make, let's talk about it! Questions? Want to book a date night? Email us: therosiestrevolutionATgmailDOTcom

(We type it like that so the bots don't find us, but if you click the link an email should open up. Or you can copy and paste the address and replace the capital letters with their punctuation marks.)

What's hand building?

Hand-building refers to pieces that aren't made on the wheel. It's ideal for beginners because all you need are your hands. We can construct our objects in a number of ways - by pinching, by roll out slabs, or even rolling coils and attaching them together.

What kinds of hand-building could I do?

Truly, the possibilities are endless! Here are some of the hand-building projects that have inspired me lately. To get your brain spinning, here are a few examples:

COASTERS | Slab or Coil

TRINKETS DISH | Pinch or Coil

SPOON REST | Slab, Pinch or Coil
CHARCUTERIE PLATE | Slab

Vase | Slab or Coil

Nature Plates | Slab or Coil

Most projects can be completed in a single session, but if you're looking to make something more complicated, we can discuss breaking it out over a few sessions.

Can I throw on the wheel?

Absolutely! Please note: We have one wheel at our home studio, so these sessions are for a maximum of two people. If you'd like to work on a small hand-building project when you're not on the wheel, you are able to do that. Grown-ups: Feel free to BYOB.

Can I throw on the wheel?

Absolutely! We have one wheel at our home studio. One wheel. Our home studio. If you know what you're doing, it's yours to use: pay-what-you-wish ($10/hour suggested). Email us and we'll set up time to chat and make sure it's a good fit. If you're looking for instruction, we offer that as well.
